Ingredients
- 🌾 All-purpose flour: 1 cup (120 g)
- 💧 Water: 1 cup (240 ml)
- 🍬 Granulated sugar: 2 tablespoons (plus extra for sprinkling)
- 🧂 Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
- 🌿 Ground cinnamon: 1 teaspoon (plus extra for sprinkling)
- 🧈 Unsalted butter: 2 tablespoons (28 g)
- 🥚 Large eggs: 2
- 🍦 Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
- 🛢️ Cooking spray: for greasing
Instructions
- Prepare the dough by combining water, butter, sugar, and salt in a medium saucepan and bringing it to a boil.
- Remove from heat and add all-purpose flour, stirring until a ball forms.
- Let the dough cool for about 5 minutes, then pipe it into churro shapes onto parchment paper.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Lightly spray the churros with cooking spray and cook in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
- Roll the cooked churros in a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon before serving.
Notes
- Don’t overmix the dough to avoid tough churros.
- Leave enough space between churros when piping to prevent sticking.
- Check churros a minute or two before the timer goes off to avoid overcooking.
