Description
A delightful twist on the classic chicken parmesan, featuring juicy chicken breasts stuffed with gooey mozzarella cheese and coated in crispy breadcrumbs, all cooked to perfection in an air fryer.
Ingredients
- 🍗 Chicken Breasts: 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 🧀 Mozzarella Cheese: 8 oz, either sliced or shredded
- 🍞 Breadcrumbs: 1 cup, preferably Italian-style
- 🍅 Marinara Sauce: 1 cup, store-bought or homemade
- 🌿 Italian Seasoning: 1 teaspoon
- 🛢️ Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons
- 🧂 Salt and Pepper: to taste
- 🌿 Fresh Basil: for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the chicken breasts by slicing horizontally into the thickest part to create pockets.
- Season the inside of the chicken pockets with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Stuff each pocket with about 2 oz of mozzarella cheese.
- In a shallow dish, mix breadcrumbs with olive oil until evenly coated.
- Coat each stuffed chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- Place the coated chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- Remove the chicken, spoon marinara sauce over each piece, and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Return to the air fryer for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

- Experiment with different cheeses for stuffing.
- Consider adding garlic powder or spinach to the stuffing for extra flavor.
