Description
A delicious and healthier version of traditional tandoori chicken made in an air fryer, featuring juicy chicken breasts marinated in yogurt and spices.
Ingredients
- 🍗 Chicken Breasts: 4 pieces (about 1.5 lbs or 680 g)
- 🥄 Plain Yogurt: 1 cup (240 g)
- 🌶️ Tandoori Spice Mix: 2 tablespoons
- 🍋 Lemon Juice: 2 tablespoons
- 🧄 Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- 🧑🍳 Ginger: 1 tablespoon, grated
- 🧂 Salt: 1 teaspoon (or to taste)
- 🛢️ Oil: 1 tablespoon (for brushing)
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken by mixing yogurt, tandoori spice mix, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add the chicken breasts to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (overnight is best).
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the marinade, let excess drip off, and brush each piece lightly with oil.
- Place the chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer; it should reach 165°F (75°C). Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra spice, add cayenne pepper to the marinade.
- Ensure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket for even cooking.
