- 1 lb ziti pasta
- 1 lb Italian sausage (casings removed)
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook ziti according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
- In a skillet, brown the sausage over medium heat, breaking it into small pieces.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, 1 cup mozzarella, Parmesan, basil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Combine cooked pasta, sausage, and marinara sauce in a large bowl.
- Spread half the pasta mixture in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Top with ricotta mixture, then the remaining pasta.
- Sprinkle remaining mozzarella on top.
- Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

- Use ground beef or turkey sausage as alternatives.
- Add spinach or mushrooms for extra veggies.
- Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
