Description

A classic beef and cheese lasagna with layers of pasta, rich meat sauce, and creamy cheese filling.


Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Brown ground beef with onion and garlic in a skillet. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add marinara sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper to the beef. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Mix ricotta cheese, egg, and half the Parmesan cheese in a bowl.
  6. Layer noodles, meat sauce, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella in a baking dish. Repeat layers.
  7. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey for beef.
  • No-boil lasagna noodles can be used for quicker prep.
