Description
A delightful fusion of jalapeno poppers and crispy egg rolls filled with ground beef, jalapenos, and creamy cheeses.
Ingredients
- Ground beef: 1 lb (450 g)
- Jalapenos: 3-4, finely chopped
- Cream cheese: 8 oz (225 g), softened
- Cheddar cheese: 1 cup (100 g), shredded
- Egg roll wrappers: 10-12
- Oil: for frying (about 2 cups or as needed)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef, breaking it into small crumbles until fully cooked.
- Drain any excess fat and let the beef cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef, finely chopped jalapenos, softened cream cheese, and shredded cheddar cheese until well mixed.
- Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface and place about 2 tablespoons of the filling in the center.
- Fold the bottom corner over the filling, tuck it in, fold in the sides, and roll it up tightly, sealing the edges with water.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan to about 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the egg rolls in batches for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove the egg rolls with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Notes
- Adjust the number of jalapenos based on your spice preference.
- Experiment with different types of cheese for varied flavors.
- These egg rolls can be made ahead of time and frozen before frying.
