Description
A delightful fusion of flavors combining the rich, smoky essence of blackened steak with buttery, garlicky shrimp scampi.
Ingredients
- Ribeye Steak: 1 lb (about 450 g)
- Shrimp: 1 lb (about 450 g), peeled and deveined
- Blackening Seasoning: 2 tablespoons
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Butter: 4 tablespoons (divided)
- Lemon: 1, juiced (plus extra wedges for serving)
- Fresh Parsley: 1/4 cup, chopped
- Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons
- Salt and Pepper: to taste
Instructions
- Pat the ribeye steak dry with paper towels and season both sides with blackening seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let it sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.
- Peel and devein the shrimp, then season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Cook the ribeye steak for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Remove from skillet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter. Sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque. Squeeze lemon juice over the shrimp and stir in the remaining butter and chopped parsley.
- Slice the rested ribeye steak and plate it alongside the shrimp, drizzling any remaining garlic butter sauce over the top. Garnish with lemon wedges and parsley.
Notes
- For added heat, consider using crushed red pepper flakes.
- A splash of white wine can enhance the shrimp scampi sauce.
- Parmesan cheese can be sprinkled on top before serving for extra flavor.
- Fresh herbs like thyme or basil can be added for more aroma.
