Description

A delightful fusion of flavors combining the rich, smoky essence of blackened steak with buttery, garlicky shrimp scampi.

Ingredients

  • Ribeye Steak: 1 lb (about 450 g)
  • Shrimp: 1 lb (about 450 g), peeled and deveined
  • Blackening Seasoning: 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
  • Butter: 4 tablespoons (divided)
  • Lemon: 1, juiced (plus extra wedges for serving)
  • Fresh Parsley: 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Salt and Pepper: to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the ribeye steak dry with paper towels and season both sides with blackening seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let it sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Peel and devein the shrimp, then season lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Cook the ribeye steak for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Remove from skillet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
  4. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter. Sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds.
  5. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque. Squeeze lemon juice over the shrimp and stir in the remaining butter and chopped parsley.
  6. Slice the rested ribeye steak and plate it alongside the shrimp, drizzling any remaining garlic butter sauce over the top. Garnish with lemon wedges and parsley.

Notes

  • For added heat, consider using crushed red pepper flakes.
  • A splash of white wine can enhance the shrimp scampi sauce.
  • Parmesan cheese can be sprinkled on top before serving for extra flavor.
  • Fresh herbs like thyme or basil can be added for more aroma.
