Ingredients

- 1 (8-10 oz) ribeye or sirloin steak
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions
- Mix all dry spices in a bowl.
- Coat the steak evenly with the spice blend.
- Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat until smoking.
- Add butter and let it melt.
- Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare.
- Rest the steak for 5 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- Use a well-ventilated kitchen or open windows due to smoke.
- Adjust cayenne pepper for desired heat level.
- Let the steak rest to retain juices.
