Ingredients

- 500g chicken, cut into pieces
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp mustard oil
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp red chili powder
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- 1 tsp fenugreek seeds
- 1 tsp nigella seeds
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat mustard oil in a pan until smoky. Let it cool slightly.
- Add cumin, fennel, fenugreek, and nigella seeds. Sauté for a few seconds.
- Add chopped onions and green chilies. Fry until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 1 minute.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft.
- Add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add chicken pieces and cook until they turn white.
- Whisk yogurt and add to the chicken. Stir well.
- Cover and cook on low heat until chicken is tender.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
Notes
- Use bone-in chicken for better flavor.
- Adjust spice levels to your preference.
- Serve with naan or steamed rice.
