  • 🧈 Unsalted butter – 1 cup (226 g), softened
  • 🍦 Vanilla extract – 2 teaspoons
  • 🍫 Chocolate frosting – 2 cups

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
