Description

Ingredients

  • Cold Water: 3/4 cup
  • Unflavored Gelatin: 3 envelopes
  • Granulated Sugar: 2 cups
  • Light Corn Syrup: 1/2 cup
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cotton Candy Flavoring: 1 teaspoon
  • Gel Food Coloring: As desired
  • Powdered Sugar: 1/2 cup (for dusting)
  • Cornstarch: 1/4 cup (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the gelatin mixture by combining cold water and unflavored gelatin in a medium bowl and letting it sit for about 10 minutes.
  2. Cook the sugar mixture by combining granulated sugar, light corn syrup, salt, and water in a saucepan over medium heat until it reaches 240°F (115°C).
  3. Combine the hot sugar mixture with the bloomed gelatin while mixing with a hand mixer on low speed, then whip on high for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Add cotton candy flavoring and gel food coloring to the marshmallow mixture and mix well.
  5. Prepare the baking dish by lining it with parchment paper and dusting it with powdered sugar and cornstarch.
  6. Pour the marshmallow mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  7. Let the marshmallows set at room temperature for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  8. Cut the marshmallows into squares and dust them with powdered sugar and cornstarch to prevent sticking.
  9. Serve the cotton candy marshmallows as a sweet treat or use them to top desserts.
