- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup vodka
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Pour in vodka and let it simmer for 2 minutes to cook off the alcohol.
- Add tomato sauce, heavy cream, and red pepper flakes. Stir and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add cooked penne to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh basil before serving.
