Ingredients
- 🍝 Fettuccine pasta – 12 oz (340 g)
- 🍤 Shrimp – 1 lb (450 g), peeled and deveined
- 🥛 Heavy cream – 1 cup (240 ml)
- 🧈 Butter – 1/2 cup (115 g)
- 🧄 Garlic – 4 cloves, minced
- 🧀 Parmesan cheese – 1 cup (100 g), grated
- 🌿 Fresh parsley – 1/4 cup, chopped (for garnish)
- 🧂 Salt – to taste
- 🧂 Pepper – to taste
Instructions
- Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain and reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and smooth. Adjust the consistency with reserved pasta water if needed.
- Add the cooked fettuccine and sautéed shrimp back into the skillet. Toss gently to coat everything in the sauce. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary.
- Plate the dish, garnish with freshly chopped parsley, and serve immediately while hot.
