Ingredients

  • 8 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut mozzarella sticks in half.
  2. Place flour in a shallow bowl.
  3. Beat eggs in a second shallow bowl.
  4. Mix breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a third shallow bowl.
  5. Roll each mozzarella stick in flour, dip in egg, then coat with breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F.
  7. Fry mozzarella sticks for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Drain on paper towels and serve warm.

Notes

  • Freeze coated mozzarella sticks for 30 minutes before frying for extra crispiness.
