Description

Delicious chicken gyros with tender meat, fresh vegetables, and creamy tzatziki sauce wrapped in warm pita bread.


Ingredients

  • 500g chicken breast, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat a pan over medium heat. Cook chicken until fully done, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Warm pita bread in a dry pan for 30 seconds per side.
  4. Assemble gyros by placing chicken, lettuce, tomato, onion, and cucumber on each pita.
  5. Drizzle with tzatziki sauce.
  6. Fold pita and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate chicken for up to 2 hours.
  • Add French fries inside the gyro for a traditional touch.
