- 500g chicken breast, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cucumber, sliced
- 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce
Instructions
- Marinate chicken with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
- Heat a pan over medium heat. Cook chicken until fully done, about 6-8 minutes.
- Warm pita bread in a dry pan for 30 seconds per side.
- Assemble gyros by placing chicken, lettuce, tomato, onion, and cucumber on each pita.
- Drizzle with tzatziki sauce.
- Fold pita and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate chicken for up to 2 hours.
- Add French fries inside the gyro for a traditional touch.
- Use Greek yogurt for homemade tzatziki.
