- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
- 1 cup carrots, diced
- 1 cup peas
- 1/2 cup celery, diced
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 3/4 cups chicken broth
- 2/3 cup milk
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add carrots, peas, and celery. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Stir in flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Slowly pour in chicken broth and milk, stirring constantly.
- Cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Add cooked chicken and mix well.
- Remove from heat and use as filling for your pot pie.
Notes
- You can use rotisserie chicken for convenience.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Freeze the filling for later use.
