- 1 whole chicken (4–5 lbs)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup chicken broth or water
Instructions
- Rinse the chicken and pat it dry with paper towels.
- Mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika in a small bowl.
- Rub the chicken with olive oil, then coat it evenly with the spice mixture.
- Pour chicken broth or water into the crockpot.
- Place the chicken in the crockpot, breast-side up.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Check the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Use kitchen shears to remove excess fat.
- For crispier skin, broil the chicken for 3-5 minutes after cooking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
