Ingredients
- Fresh green beans: 500 grams, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces.
- Frozen hash browns: 450 grams (about 1 bag).
- Cream of mushroom soup: 1 can (about 300 grams).
- Shredded cheddar cheese: 2 cups.
- Onion: 1 medium, finely chopped.
- Garlic powder: 1 teaspoon.
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste).
- Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste).
- Olive oil: 1 tablespoon (for sautéing).
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and blanch the green beans for 3-4 minutes, then drain.
- In a medium skillet, heat olive oil and sauté the chopped onion for 3-5 minutes until translucent.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the blanched green beans, sautéed onions, frozen hash browns, cream of mushroom soup, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, add the remaining 1 cup of cheese, and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until melted.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
