Ingredients
- 🍗 Chicken breasts – 4 pieces (about 1.5 lbs or 680 g)
- 🛢️ Olive oil – 3 tablespoons
- 🧄 Garlic – 3 cloves, minced
- 🍋 Lemon juice – 2 tablespoons (freshly squeezed)
- 🧂 Salt – to taste
- 🧂 Pepper – to taste
- 🥙 Hummus – 1 cup (store-bought or homemade)
- 🍞 Pita bread – 4 pieces
- 🌿 Fresh parsley – for garnish (chopped)
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken by combining olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Add chicken breasts and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Prepare the hummus by blending chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt until smooth. Adjust consistency with water if needed.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the marinated chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- While the chicken rests, warm the pita bread wrapped in aluminum foil on the grill for 5 minutes.
