Description

A comforting homemade chicken noodle soup made with simple ingredients.


Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (about 34 lbs)
  • 8 cups water
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups egg noodles
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Place chicken in a large pot and add water. Bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
  3. Remove chicken and shred the meat.
  4. Add carrots, celery, onion, garlic, bay leaves, salt, and pepper to the pot.
  5. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. Add egg noodles and cook for 10 minutes.
  7. Return shredded chicken to the pot.
  8. Garnish with parsley before serving.
