A comforting homemade chicken noodle soup made with simple ingredients.
Ingredients

- 1 whole chicken (about 3–4 lbs)
- 8 cups water
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups egg noodles
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Place chicken in a large pot and add water. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
- Remove chicken and shred the meat.
- Add carrots, celery, onion, garlic, bay leaves, salt, and pepper to the pot.
- Simmer for 20 minutes.
- Add egg noodles and cook for 10 minutes.
- Return shredded chicken to the pot.
- Garnish with parsley before serving.
Notes
- Use leftover chicken to save time.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Freeze for longer storage.
