- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Brown ground beef and sausage in a skillet. Add onion and garlic, cook until softened.
- Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, half the mozzarella, Parmesan, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Layer noodles, meat sauce, and cheese mixture in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Repeat layers.
- Top with remaining mozzarella.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use no-boil lasagna noodles to skip step 2.
- Substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
- Freeze leftovers for up to 3 months.
