- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper.
- Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
- Add cheddar and Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted.
- Combine cheese sauce with cooked macaroni.
- Transfer to a baking dish and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- Use freshly grated cheese for better melting.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- For extra creaminess, add a splash of heavy cream.
