Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper.
  4. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  5. Add cheddar and Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted.
  6. Combine cheese sauce with cooked macaroni.
  7. Transfer to a baking dish and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated cheese for better melting.
