Description

A comforting casserole that combines the rich flavors of meatloaf with creamy macaroni and cheese.


Ingredients

  • Ground beef: 1 lb (450 g)
  • Macaroni: 2 cups (uncooked)
  • Cheese sauce: 2 cups (store-bought or homemade)
  • Breadcrumbs: 1 cup
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Onion: 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley: 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Salt: to taste
  • Pepper: to taste
  • Olive oil: 1 tablespoon (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the meatloaf mixture by combining ground beef, sautéed onion and garlic, eggs, breadcrumbs, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Cook the macaroni in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  4. Combine the cooked macaroni with half of the cheese sauce in a large mixing bowl.
  5. Assemble the casserole by layering half of the meat mixture, half of the macaroni, and half of the cheese sauce in a greased baking dish. Repeat the layers.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

  • Feel free to customize with different proteins or spices.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
