Ingredients
- Vegetable Oil: 2 tablespoons
- Onion: 1, chopped
- Garlic: 3 cloves, minced
- Celery: 2 stalks, chopped
- Carrots: 2, diced
- Patis (Fish Sauce): 2 tablespoons
- Dry Pasta: 1 cup elbow macaroni
- Cooked Chicken: 2 cups, diced or shredded
- Chicken Stock: 4 cups
- Salt and Pepper: to taste
- Milk: 1 cup
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and chopped celery, cooking for an additional 2 minutes.
- Add the diced carrots and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
- Pour in the patis (fish sauce) and mix well.
- Add the dry elbow macaroni and chicken stock, bringing the mixture to a boil.
- Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente.
- Stir in the diced or shredded cooked chicken and simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, then stir in the milk.
- Ladle the soup into bowls and serve warm.
