Description
Marry Me Shrimp Pasta is a delightful recipe that combines succulent shrimp, creamy sauce, and perfectly cooked pasta, creating a meal that feels special yet is easy to prepare.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz of linguine or your favorite pasta
- 1 lb of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tbsp of olive oil
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tsp of red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
- 1/2 cup of chopped sun-dried tomatoes
- 1/2 cup of chicken broth
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup of fresh basil, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Start by boiling a large pot of salted water. Once it reaches a rolling boil, add your linguine or chosen pasta. Cook according to the package instructions until it’s al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain the pasta, saving a little pasta water.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil. Once hot, add the shrimp, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add sun-dried tomatoes and chicken broth, simmering for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted. Adjust thickness with reserved pasta water if needed.
- Add the cooked pasta and shrimp back into the skillet, tossing gently to coat with the sauce. Stir in chopped fresh basil and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Plate the pasta and shrimp, garnishing with additional fresh basil and Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Choose fresh shrimp for better texture and flavor.
- Don’t overcook the shrimp to avoid rubberiness.
- Adjust the spice level according to your taste.
- Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor.
- Experiment with add-ins like vegetables for added nutrition.
- Let the sauce simmer for deeper flavors.
- Serve immediately for the best experience.
