- 2 tablespoons shawarma spice blend
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 200 grams plain Greek yogurt
- 4 pieces pita bread
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 2 medium diced tomatoes
- 1 medium sliced cucumber
- 100 grams tahini sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Optional: pickled red onions, sliced jalapeños, cayenne pepper, feta cheese, grated carrots, roasted red peppers, hummus
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken by combining chicken thighs, shawarma spice blend, minced garlic, and plain yogurt in a mixing bowl. Season with salt and pepper, mix well, and refrigerate for at least an hour or overnight.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken thighs and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Let rest before slicing.
- Prepare the fresh ingredients by washing and chopping the lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumber.
- Assemble the wrap by placing shredded lettuce, sliced chicken, diced tomatoes, cucumber, and tahini sauce in the center of a warm pita bread. Fold and roll tightly.
- Serve the wraps cut in half on a platter, optionally garnished with extra veggies or tahini sauce.
