Ingredients
- 🍝 Pasta (penne or fusilli) – 12 oz (340 g)
- 🥩 Steak (sirloin or ribeye) – 1 lb (450 g), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 🌶️ Bell peppers (mixed colors) – 2, sliced
- 🧅 Onion – 1 medium, diced
- 🧄 Garlic – 4 cloves, minced
- 🥩 Beef broth – 4 cups (960 ml)
- 🍅 Diced tomatoes – 1 can (14.5 oz or 410 g)
- 🌿 Italian seasoning – 2 teaspoons
- 🛢️ Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
- 🧂 Salt – to taste
- 🧂 Pepper – to taste
- 🧀 Grated Parmesan cheese – for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare all ingredients by cutting the steak, slicing the bell peppers, dicing the onion, and mincing the garlic.
- Heat a large pot over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Season the steak with salt and pepper, then sear for 4-5 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, sauté the onion and bell peppers for 3-4 minutes, then add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Return the seared steak to the pot and add pasta, beef broth, diced tomatoes, and Italian seasoning. Stir well.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer and cover. Cook for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- After cooking, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Let sit for a few minutes before serving, optionally garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.
