Ingredients

- 12 large sea scallops (about 1 lb)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Pat scallops dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add scallops and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from pan.
- Reduce heat to medium, add butter, garlic, lemon juice, and zest. Cook for 1 minute.
- Return scallops to the pan, spoon sauce over them, and garnish with parsley.
Notes
- Use dry scallops for better searing.
- Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure even cooking.
- Serve immediately for best texture.
