Ingredients

- 1 cup stone-ground grits
- 4 cups water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
Instructions
- Bring water to a boil in a pot. Stir in grits and salt.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in cheddar cheese until melted.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and shrimp.
- Cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink.
- Sprinkle paprika and black pepper over shrimp.
- Serve shrimp over grits and garnish with parsley.

- Adjust salt to taste.
- For creamier grits, add more butter or cheese.
