Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp horseradish
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp hot sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring water, lemon slices, bay leaf, and salt to a boil.
  2. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque.
  3. Drain shrimp and transfer to a bowl of ice water to cool.
  4. In a small bowl, mix ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce to make the cocktail sauce.
  5. Chill shrimp and sauce separately for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Serve shrimp with cocktail sauce on the side.
