- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until combined.
- In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon for the coating.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Place dough balls 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft.
- Let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Do not overbake to keep cookies soft.
- Dough can be chilled for 30 minutes if too sticky.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
