Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup pizza sauce (divided)
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar (optional for extra flavor)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce (for topping)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella (for topping)
  • Pepperoni slices (for topping)
  • Sliced jalapeños or mushrooms (optional for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by letting it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes, then roll it out into a large circle.
  2. Grease a deep cake pan or cast iron skillet and place the rolled-out dough into the pan.
  3. In a skillet, cook the ground beef, diced onion, and bell pepper over medium heat until browned and soft.
  4. Drain excess fat, then add garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and 1/2 cup of pizza sauce. Simmer for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Layer half of the shredded mozzarella cheese on the bottom of the dough-lined pan, then spoon the beef mixture over it.
  6. If using, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top of the beef mixture, then add the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  7. Drizzle the rest of the pizza sauce over the top and add pepperoni slices and any other desired toppings.
  8. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the pizza uncovered for 35-40 minutes.
  9. Let the pizza cool for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
